April 1st – Get ready to experience the wonder of childhood through the eyes of talented contemporary artists in our second exhibition “Childlike Wonder”. This time, Aatelier Bali become the curator of the works in collaboration with JHUB Artspace. As their second collaboration, Aatelier Bali committed to giving contemporary artists a space that makes them widely known to the public. This showcase also involves Locca Sea House as the venue, which is widely known for its beautiful ocean view and delicious food and beverage experience. Childlike Wonder will start on April 7th, 2023 as the VIP Preview, followed by the public opening on April 8th, 2023, and lasted until the end of April.
Involving the best contemporary artists across Indonesia
This collaboration involves over 50 artworks from contemporary painters from Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Jakarta. Some of them are I Nyoman Darya, Radetyo ‘Itok’, Suardana Kacor, Yanwar Nugroho, Marta Dwipayana, Bayu Mandira, Stefany Zefanya, Debi Arnasa, Erdiawan Golek, Sorx, Mochammad Fajar, Wilson Wirawan, Akhirul Akbar, and Muhammad Fauzan. This time, Marlowe Bandem also contribute to the exhibition as a writer. Childlike Wonder emphasizes that childhood memories’ cunning and unrestrained psyche shatters conventional notions of success and acclaim, projecting the idea that true artistic accomplishment is found in the journey, not the destination. Proximate to raré angon and their colorful kites, Childlike Wonder is a symphony of delight, where each artist’s vibrant visuals takes to the skies, painting the vast canvas of the heavens with a kaleidoscope of colors and forms. Amidst the brimming horizon, each gust of wind lifts our spirits, and our hearts soar as we embrace the captivating inner child within each of us and the infinite wonders we hold and celebrate.
Enjoying showcase with the ocean breeze, music, and delicious taste
Locca Sea House prepares the unexpected for the public opening for the showcase by launching their first musical project “Musik Dari Tebing”. Not only immersed in visual and auditory artistic senses, but attendees can also enjoy the breathtaking ocean view while having luscious bites and fresh beverages.

The idea for Aatelier started in 2020 when we were helping fellow artists in Bali reach wider audiences. Every artist experienced firsthand how overvalued works strangely coexist with undervalued artists, and how artists are bound by the market perception in their creative exploration. We want to challenge that. Aatelier strives to promote values traditionally overlooked in the industry – inclusivity, transparency, and equity.
